Corona virus (COVID-19) has now killed more than 5000 people globally to date and infected at least 140,000 others. According to the World Health Organisation, approximately 3% of all people who contract COVID-19 will die.
If that wasn’t alarming enough, COVID-19 has no available vaccine, and most medical authorities estimate the virus is now a full blown pandemic which will last for at least the next 6 months.
Human to human transmission of the virus is also spectacularly easy: it’s carried out by droplets from breathing, coughing, sneezing or touching infected surfaces. COVID-19 then attacks the respiratory system, causing pneumonia-like lung lesions. The lungs, drowning in fluid, then struggle to pass oxygen into the bloodstream, leading to organ failure and death.
Of course the people most at risk - as with flu viruses generally - are the over 50s, particularly those with underlying health problems. In the case of Corona virus, diabetes is a real problem, so too is any kind of respiratory disorder or heart problem. Males appear to be at a slight disadvantage to females, with some commentators suggesting this is due to higher levels of tobacco and alcohol use.
So wht can we - the general public - do to best prepare for the onslaught of COVID-19? All governments recommend washing your hands well and often, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth and generally avoid other people (easier said than done) . Facemasks stop you spreading the virus if you have it; they’re not much use for protection if you don’t. Lastly, the advice if you have been to an infected area and show symptoms of COVID-19 (which are confusingly largely the same as any other bad flu), is to self isolate for 2 weeks.
But t`here is another, underreported way to protect yourself against Corona virus - by boosting your immune system.

Here’s how in 7 steps:
  1. Lose weight fast.
Reducing unnecessary weight is massively beneficial for pretty much everything (from sleeping via concentration to avoiding illness) but if you are obese with diabetes, drop those kilos now - and fast. A medically supervised ketogenic diet may be the most effective and quickest way. (More Info)
  2. Kill your stress.
When you’re stressed out your body overloads with cortisol, which cripples the immune system. Stay zen at work as much as you can. Get the work life balance right and try meditation. (More Info)
  3. Load up on the right vitamins and minerals.
Vitamin C is one of the biggest immune system boosters of all. Vitamin B6 is vital to supporting biochemical reactions in the immune system. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps the body fight off infection. Vitamin D and Zinc are also key in supporting your immune system. Echinacea and shiitake also boosts the immune system and reduces the symptoms of flu.
  4. Sleep More.
Let your body recover. Remember that sleep is an absolutely essential tool in fighting viruses.
Effynox is a combination of 3 plants that improve sleep by acting especially on falling asleep.
Effysom is a synergy of 4 plants that act in particular on sleep duration and nighttime awakenings.
  5. Reduce Inflammation.
Inflammation is the root cause of many illnesses. Sugar, alcohol, processed meat, vegetable oils and of course smoking/vaping are all inflammatory. Turmeric is a proven way to reduce inflammation. (More Info)
  6. Exercise, but not too much!
Exercise can boost immunity, but too much can be stressful on the body. Keep stress low, and if you're tired, then rest.
  7. Avoid toxins.
Avoid pesticides, air fresheners, food additives, heavy metals, and mycotoxins from mould.

Remember, don’t wait for Corona virus to hit you - protect yourself by boosting your immunity now.
